About Us
Hill, Hill, Carter, Franco, Cole & Black, P.C. was founded in 1924 by Thomas B. Hill, Jr. who was later joined by William Inge Hill, James Stovall and James J. Carter to form the firm, Hill, Hill, Stovall & Carter. The present firm evolved from growth and diversification primarily in the fields of litigation, business, taxation and estates and real estate. Various members have served as presidents of the Alabama State Bar Association, bar commissioners, and interim appellate and trial court judicial appointments. The firm is a proud member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
The firm has emphasized diversification and specialization in all fields. Its business section includes practice in federal, state and local taxation, estate planning, banking, probate, bankruptcy, employee benefits, construction, real estate and corporate work.
The litigation section practices in all fields of general litigation including insurance defense, product liability, professional liability, aviation, municipal defense, civil rights, construction, commercial, corporate litigation and employment law.
Although the size of the firm and complexity of practice have increased over the years, its objectives have remained unchanged. These objectives are predicated to legal excellence, integrity and welfare of clients.
