Our Company

Back in 1932, and for years afterwards, James C. Greene Company was little more than James C. Greene Sr, his briefcase, and his car. When people saw that shiny, black Ford pulling in their driveway, they instantly recognized the driver. And the driver knew them. Mr. Greene exemplified his business vision in the phrase "Not Widely but Well," which spoke to his focus on quality service and relationships over territorial breadth.

Though Mr. Greene's old Ford has long since retired, a new generation leads the company and carries on Mr. Greene's legacy. As always, you can count on James C. Greene Company's distinct dedication to conscientious service, quality product, and timely reporting. Since 1932, remember "It's Greene In the Carolinas."

Our Territory

While James C. Greene Company's headquarters has long been based in Raleigh, the company also deploys adjusters from a network of 28 service locations throughout Virginia, Georgia, and the Carolinas. We provide intensive coverage with minimal travel and faster response times to better serve our clients. James C. Greene Company also finds a distinct advantage in hiring and retaining adjusters with specialized backgrounds and localized knowledge. While some competitors boast territorial breadth, they may unwittingly sacrifice experience and responsiveness. With James C. Greene Company, however, you will find we offer the very best to both our clients and those we consider our neighbors.

Our Standards

James C. Greene Company has long positioned as being a regional independent; this alignment affords our customers certain advantages. Our strategically placed network of locations and adjusters enhances expeditious service, due to reduced travel time and cost. Employing personnel native to an area provides aids in recruitment and minimizes turnover. Our top management is close to the action and can respond quickly. We know our landscape.

It is not our goal to simply undersell our competition; as a closely held corporation, we have no stock to sell, therefore, no pressure from stockholders nor need to generate earnings by 'quota production.' We are adaptive, quickly reacting to the frequented changing dynamics that define our industry.
Assigment Triage - A supervisory review that ensures complex or severe claims are assigned to the appropriate adjuster.
Timely Service & Communication - Our focus is responsiveness to your stipulations and within your cycle frames. Alternatively, expect completed appraisal service within 7 days of assignment; a 10-day first report on limited or full adjustment assignments, with 30-day reports thereafter.
Supervisory Oversight and Review - We hold every appraisal and claim to the same high standards over the life of the assignment. We also review all outbound reports via digital transcription.
Conflict of Interest - Both clients are advised immediately and we will normally refrain from handling the “second in the door,” unless both clients are amenable and then only with separate adjusters without interchange of information.
Flexible Seasoned Adjusters - Our average adjuster has experience in excess of 20 years, and most are longtime residents of the areas they serve. However, if you prefer an adjuster from another locality, we can accommodate you. For complex assignments, we have GA class adjusters who are geographically unlimited within our service territories.

James C. Greene Jr., President

Following in his father's footsteps, Mr. Greene owns and operates James C. Greene Company. He began working at the company in 1969, managed Greenville's office in 1972, and two years later moved to Raleigh as Assistant Vice President. He offers general operational oversight for the entire business, handles legal matters, and establishes company-wide policies. He also attends industry-sponsored events each year. In an age of impersonal and superficial connections, Mr. Greene continually insists on personally visiting clients to create and maintain positive business relationships.

M. Brock Bagley, Director of Operations
Brock has been with James C. Greene Company since 2005. He oversees all aspects of the claims process and manages CAT events in the Carolinas. Brock facilitates correspondence with James C. Greene Company adjusters and our clients. Among various other duties involving IT and marketing, Brock also leads training sessions and supervises all activity in the company's claims management software. Brock earned his AAS in Computer Information Technology, holds a current North Carolina Insurance Adjuster's License, and comes from fifteen years of managerial experience.

M. Keith Ray, NC Supervisor

Keith joined James C. Greene Company in 2010. Keith supervises the company's field staff in North Carolina. He reviews finished reports, ensures those reports meet a particular client's criteria and confirms the accuracy of the scope and estimates of the report.

E. Brooks Dent, SC Supervisor
James C. Greene Company recruited Brooks in 2013. Brooks serves as our South Carolina claims supervisor where he ensures company adjusters perform their responsibilities to our clients satisfaction. He performs quality control inspections on reports and makes certain adjusters adhere to company policies. Brooks received his Bachelor's of Arts in Business Management from North Carolina State University.
