About Us

In January 2000, Mr. Beringer established Beringer & Associates. Later he was to hold positions including CEO/President of Plexus Total Risk Management, Inc., and as a Licensed Senior Director of Creative Solutions SPC (a Cayman Segregated Portfolio Company).

Mr. Beringer served as Liability Program Manager for ICRMA and BICEP (municipal risk management programs involving 23 cities in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and Ventura County). His services included handling significant exposures through his client's self-insured retention and reinsurance’s attachment to $30.0 million.

Before 2000, Mr. Beringer directed litigation on behalf of Specialty Risk Services, Twin City Fire Insurance, and Hartford Fire Insurance Company. Employment in the insurance industry, starting with the Automobile Club of Southern California from 1969 to 1982, as a Senior Litigation Manager. He continued his experience in the insurance industry with Industrial Indemnity (Litigation Specialist), Great American (Regional Litigation Manager), and Western International Insurance Company (Director of Litigation) until 2000.

I have evaluated insurance coverage matters, including Cumis conflict cases, since 1970. Case coverage evaluations have included auditing legal fees, liability and damages, CGL Coverage A and B, E&O, EPLI, MOUs, and Cayman Captive risk and funding documents. The evaluations have been performed on the behalf of attorneys representing individual clients, insurance carriers, reinsurance carriers, Captives, and municipalities.

Mr. Beringer has worked with clients in the reinsurance, self insurance and insurance contract venues perfecting coverage from primary, reinsurance and excess policies, Errors and Omissions, Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Tax Practitioners and professional services contracts. He holds an appointment with the Chinese government's Ministry of Inland Marine, and a personal commendation from the CEO/President of The Hartford.

Mr. Beringer worked in the insurance industry for 30 plus years as a Litigation Manager for various insurance carriers, including Specialty Risk Services (Hartford), Industrial Indemnity, Great American and Western International. For the past 12 plus years, as Principal of B&A, B&A has been engaged by American Insurance Group, Swiss RE and Sterling Insurance Company for carrier review preceding the attachment of E&O and/or reinsurance attachment; by Atlantic Surety & Indemnity for reinsurance/policy analysis; A.B. Lexman SPC for formation of reinsurance and program presentation to Regulators and JPJ Reinsurance SPC for a commodity transfer reinsurance program. 

In 2000 B&A was requested to assist with the Reliance Insurance Company's run off for their self-insured and large deductible programs, including trucking, airlines and other various risks. Mr. Beringer was also engaged by Plexi Insurance Services, an insurance brokerage, for support of underwriting submissions for Workers' Compensation and other risks.
