Formerly known as Cheek, Cheek & Cheek, the Oklahoma-based Cheek Law Firm, P.L.L.C., was founded in 1942 by Judge James C. Cheek. Judge Cheek served as a judge of the Oklahoma County Juvenile and Probate Court from 1919 through 1922. Afterward, Judge Cheek left the bench and practiced with the firm Cheek, Gibson, Savage, and Benefield until he was joined by his three sons to form the family firm in 1942. In 2009, the form was organized as a Professional Limited Liability Company by Judge Cheek's grandson, Tim N. Cheek, and his business partner, D. Todd Riddles. Today, Cheek Law Firm, P.L.L.C., maintains a team of skilled litigation attorneys and support staff committed to providing high quality legal services at reasonable rates. For over six decades and three generations, the firm has provided legal services to Oklahomans. Many alums of Cheek Law Firm, P.L.L.C., are in practice around the State of Oklahoma or on the judicial bench today.

When a law student, Tim was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Torts I. During his practice afterward, he served as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Oklahoma, teaching Business Law from 1992-1999, and was a Master in the Robert J. Turner Inn of Court. He is a Master in the Luther Bohanon Inn of Court and has served as a distinguished faculty member with the National Business Institute, presenting continuing legal education seminars in areas of Litigating Insurance Coverage Claims (2010) and Bad Faith Insurance Claims (2008/2010). Todd is the current President of the Oklahoma City Downtown Optimist Club and has been a volunteer attorney for Oklahoma Lawyers for Children since 2003. Greg attended and graduated law school from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. While there Greg was President of his class, a Senior Ambassador, and a Merit Scholar. Greg competed on the American Association for Justice Trial Team and received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research and Writing. Tyler joined Cheek Law Firm, P.L.L.C., in 2011 after conducting his own general civil practice in Joplin, MO. While at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Tyler received academic awards for his work in civil procedure and legal writing. He found great success participating in appellate advocacy competitions, winning OU Law's 1st year law student moot court competition, then competing regionally and nationally in the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition. At the end of his student tenure, Tyler's competition successes led him to be inducted into the prestigious Order of the Barristers for his achievements in appellate advocacy. Having since graduated and returned to the Oklahoma City area, Tyler gives back much of the time he devoted to competitive advocacy by regularly serving as a volunteer for OU Law's competitions program.

While in law school, Brent began trying jury trials as an intern with the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office. Those early beginnings have since blossomed into over twenty-five years of experience handling defense litigation. Brent has served as lead counsel in cases involving a variety of subjects, including insurance bad faith, trucking, construction, real estate, and professional liability. Brent has also represented a multitude of different clients, including insurance companies, cities and political subdivisions, religious organizations and churches, general contractors of varying trades, trucking companies, and oilfield equipment manufacturers. Brent has taught continuing legal education courses on insurance carriers' duties of good faith and fair dealing, bad faith litigation, trucking and construction litigation, and he has often been called upon by insurance companies to evaluate the progress of a claim and to provide guidance for successful resolution of such claims. Brent has received the prestigious “AV Preeminent” peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Mark's entire 33-year legal career has been spent litigating cases in state and federal court, with an emphasis on both an insurance defense trial practice and an extensive appellate practice. Before joining the Cheek Law Firm, Mark spent 23 years at a preeminent Tulsa firm specializing in defending school districts and then 10 years as a solo practitioner doing the same kind of work.
