Armstrong Teasdale has a wealth of experience providing opinions relating to coverage issues, as well as representing insurers and insureds in bad faith litigation, declaratory judgment actions, vexatious refusal claims, contribution actions and disputes between carriers. Our Insurance Coverage Litigation lawyers have been representing clients in complex coverage and insurance disputes across the country for more than 50 years. This includes serving as representation for many of the largest liability carriers in the country.
We regularly handle bad faith litigation, interpleader claims, administrative and regulatory proceedings, premium fraud litigation, sales practices and market conduct cases, including class actions and RICO cases, subrogation and extra-contractual claims. In each case, our lawyers first assess the risk of each individual situation and provide guidance so that clients can make informed decisions about litigation. This includes proactively evaluating insurance needs for clients to ensure their coverage is appropriate from the start, especially in the case of a merger or acquisition. We also have experience in reinsurance matters and are routinely engaged by insurers and reinsurers to take over cases that other firms initially handled, in trial court and on appeal.

Patrick Kenny is a trial lawyer with significant experience in bad faith and insurance coverage disputes, ERISA litigation (pension and benefits), subrogation, disputes over business transactions, noncompete agreements, class actions and fraud litigation. He has tried jury cases to verdict in Missouri and Illinois, handled and supervised numerous appeals, and served as a neutral in scores of cases. Tom Weaver's significant litigation experience includes serving as lead trial and appellate counsel in commercial, product liability, insurance and eminent domain litigation matters in both state and federal courts in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas. As leader of the Litigation practice group's Appellate practice area, Tom knows that winning a case on appeal requires more than just citing the right legal precedent. He has implemented sophisticated post-trial strategies that weave persuasive arguments with legal and policy reasoning in over 150 appeals. Tom has appeared before the Supreme Court of Missouri, Missouri Court of Appeals, Illinois Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Eighth, Seventh, Fourth, Tenth and D.C.
