About Us

About NWKT

NWKT is a boutique litigation firm specializing in high quality trial advocacy and litigation management. NWKT also has a strong creditor's rights and bankruptcy practice.

NWKT and its predecessors have represented clients in all aspects of litigation since the 1930's. NWKT handles a broad spectrum of clients and matters in areas that include appellate advocacy, bad faith litigation, business and commercial litigation, complex litigation, construction litigation, creditor's rights and bankruptcy, insurance litigation and coverage, long-term care and nursing home litigation, medical malpractice, product liability, professional liability, transportation litigation and toxic tort litigation. Today, the firm continues to build on its history of excellence, with an eye toward the future.

Trial Experience

NWKT lawyers have always been active trial lawyers. We have tried cases across Alabama in both Federal and State courts. The size of our firm dictates that all of our lawyers establish and maintain the highest skills and qualities necessary to defend the most complex cases. As technology changes, NWKT incorporates these changes into the practice of law. We have developed a state-of-the-art mock courtroom in our office to serve as training ground for our lawyers.

NWKT is committed to excellence in the courtroom. Each lawyer who practices civil defense litigation is a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy. NWKT lawyers also serve as coaches for mock trial and moot court teams at the University of Alabama School of Law and Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.

Litigation Management

NWKT lawyers are trial experts. Because of that we know the life of a file all the way through verdict and appeal, we are able to advise our clients how to most effectively manage their litigation and risk. NWKT knows how to achieve resolutions at the right time during the litigation. We pride ourselves on accurately and effectively assessing our client's exposure and providing case assessments that reflect the real world risk in the courtroom. We look at the metrics of the litigation, including time to resolution, cost budget, expected resolution value, and verdict and liability estimates to come up with a strategy that achieves the best result for our clients.

NKWT is a member of The Harmonie Group, an affiliation of independent law firms throughout the country.
