Foltz v. Pi Kappa Alpha Intl. Fraternity, Inc., Franklin C.P. 21CV002923. We successfully defended one of several students who was accused of involvement in a student death after an alleged fraternity hazing. The case was featured in national news media and on the Dr. Phil Show. National Football Museum v. Welty Building Company, Ltd., Stark C.P. 2018CV01239 (dispute over cancellation of nationally televised professional football game allegedly arising from field conditions during stadium construction) The dispute was resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. Ochall v. McNamer, 10th Dist. Franklin No. 15AP-772, 2016-Ohio-8493. We successfully defended the organizers of a go-kart race on no liability against a claim of quadriplegia/tetraplegia. A go-kart operated by a child left the track and struck the mother of another operator. Barker v. Emergency Professional Serv., Inc. 11th Dist. Trumbull No. 2012-T-0096, 2013-Ohio-5817; 11th Dist. Trumbull Nos. 2012-T-0097 & 2013-T-0026, 2013-Ohio-5818; 11th Dist. Trumbull No. 2012-T-0098, 2013-Ohio-5819. We successfully defended the owner of a private lake on no liability following a diving accident. A guest suffered a severe spinal injury, which allegedly became worse after medical malpractice, rendering the plaintiff a completely disabled quadriplegic/tetraplegic. The court granted our motion for summary judgment, and this was affirmed on appeal. D.G. v. Boardman Local Schools, N.D.Ohio No. 4:11-cv-01174. We successfully defended a pre-teen girl and her parents against allegations of school bullying and cyberbullying. The case drew national media attention including CBS News' 48 Hours show, the Dr. Phil show, and a made-for-tv movie.
