| | About Us | C J HESTER INC is the culmination of over thirty (30) years of service and dedication to the insurance industry, which began in 1976 in Winter Haven, Florida when Cathy J. Hester began her insurance career, working for a small independent insurance agency. This agency was a one-girl office and here is where Cathy learned the basics of policy coverage, underwriting and claims. She would take this insurance knowledge with her to Mobile, Alabama in 1982, where she again went to work for an independent insurance agency, for a year, before leaving to pursue her current vocation as an insurance adjuster.
In 1983 Cathy began working for Green, Hastings & Harbin, Inc. This independent adjusting company had the UAC/Continental franchise. Cathy's initial training as a multiline adjuster with this company afforded her the opportunity to work on CAT teams, become a Third Party Administrator for Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, handling their workers compensation claims, an account she serviced for over 20 years, as well as handling multiline claims for Continental Insurance Company and other insurance companies.
In 1987 Green, Hastings & Harbin, Inc. was sold to Gay & Taylor, Inc., a national independent adjusting company. Cathy continued her career with Gay & Taylor, Inc. and became Assistant Branch Manager, before leaving Gay & Taylor in 1995 to partner Green & Hester, Inc., which mirrored the philosophy of the previous companies Cathy worked for, high ethical standards, quality of service, integrity of work product and professional representation of their clients.
During her adjusting career, Cathy has continued to handle claims, as she does today, the passion for the business is still there and part of that passion is actually working on the claims, something that Cathy does not ever see herself not doing, as long as she is still in business.
Seeing a need for growth and to keep the momentum moving in a positive direction, as well as for the good of her clients, Cathy severed her long time relationship with Green & Hester, Inc. and in 2005 started C J HESTER INC, a company that is an extension of not only her previous employers but of her previous company. The philosophy and dedication of C J HESTER INC to provide exceptional claim service to the industry is second to none.
Today Cathy serves as CEO/Owner of C J HESTER INC and offers multiline property and casualty claim adjusting and investigation services throughout the Southeast in Alabama, Mississippi, South Louisiana, Georgia, North Florida and Middle Tennessee with experienced and seasoned adjusters & investigators, located in Mobile (Home Office), Dothan, Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville, Florence and Rainbow City, AL, Biloxi/Gulfport, Jackson, Tupelo and Vicksburg, MS, Bogalusa, LA, Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA. Cathy is an active member of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters (NAIIA), Property Loss Research Bureau (PLRB), Alabama Workers' Compensation Organization, and the Mobile Claims Association and Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA). She is also a member of the Atlanta Claims Association, the Mississippi Claims Association, the Montgomery Claims Association and Claims & Litigation Management (CLM) where she is currently the Alabama Vice President. Cathy is also a member of American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA), National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators (NSPII), Southern Loss Association, National Society of Subrogation Professionals, Alabama Insurance Claims Professional and Alabama Order of Blue Goose International, where she serves as Most Loyal Gander of The Alabama Pond. Cathy continues to work right along side the other adjusters of C J HESTER INC and continues to do what she loves, with the same enthusiasm and dedication to the claims industry she has had for over thirty years. | | Back To Top |
